#MondayMotivation Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That!!

One of the best books I read this year was "Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. It highlights four core commitments we can make to ourselves in order to improve our life. The one that spoke to me the most was: be impeccable with your word. Yes, this means to do what you say, but as I work to implement it more, I notice that I am a lot more conscious of what I choose to talk about and how I talk about it. I loathe small talk. I have cut people off who never want to converse about something that is going to help me be a better person, improve my life in some way, or expand my mind. In the words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that!"

We are all creators and always creating. The three main tools of creation are the thought, the word, and the deed. We are creating our lives nonstop with what we think, say, and do. When these things aren't in harmony, confusion and insanity occur. I tried my best to not comment on the situation concerning Diddy and his son but Saturday's twitter debate got ridiculous to me. Here we are discussing someone else's life just for the sake of discussing it. At the end of the debate, not one person involved had received a scholarship because of it. Diddy didn't give the person with the strongest argument one of his Maybachs. The debate was over and the fact that Justin Combs has a scholarship still remained. I am so over talking about celebrity lives or even the lives of acquaintances unless it somehow directly affects me or I'm looking to learn from one of their decisions. As a society we are encouraged to know all we can about what they are doing and neglect to do anything ourselves. I am so OVER IT!  I'm not trying to sound holier than thou but I am focused on me. I refuse to let someone else's life consume me while my own life passes me by. Getting myself where I want to be is the mission I am currently on. I don't wanna sit and think about answers to the hypothetical situations that other people are in, I want to be in the situation so that I have a real reason to discuss it. When I am coppin Maybachs like white tees and my son gets a scholarship to UCLA, then maybe I'll talk about it. I probably wouldn't then either because I'd be too focused on which Maybach I'm getting next.

A coworker of mine was going through a tabloid and asked me about some celeb sex tape, I thought to myself who gives a f*ck!?!? I used to live on gossip sites until I realized it wasn't helping me go anywhere in my life. Dealing with the "what ifs" that may never be and the "shoulda, woulda, couldas" that aren't will keep you exactly where you are, engulfed in fog. Talking is a start but you have to act to be successful. Assess and accept the present right now. Identify all that IS and if you don't like it, do something. I'm over the excuse "it's hard." Hard doesn't mean impossible. Just be honest and say you'd rather stagnate than act to change. I think I like that. Assess, accept, identify, act.

I remember reading that before getting involved with something, a successful person considers the question, "Is it important?" I try to think long term, is this something that will affect me in 5 years? Or tomorrow even. If the answer is no, I'm good on it. Just as I tweeted, who am I to judge if someone else deserves a blessing, especially when I am not the one giving the blessing or the one being blessed? I worry about me. Diddy nor Justin are waiting for me when I get home after work, only the yellow chick in the mirror is. So she is who's life I am consumed by, in the best way possible. I focus on what will help her progress. Who's life are you consumed by? Are they helping you progress?

P.S. I have decided to create my own blogsite, www.lovelivedesi.com dedicated to encouraging knowledge of self. The way that other sites bring you celebrity gossip and entertainment news, is the way I want to shed light on the self help realm mixed in with all the randomness that I draw inspiration from or use to help keep me focused. I hope to bring stories that will help people progress and move them into action. I am just getting the hang of all the tech specs so bear with me while I learn but I know for me, this is the start of something big. Thank you to all who support me, you are appreciated!!!
